My dad is a wonderful guy who is great at making things. When I was little I helped my dad and grandpa in their wood shop. Dad made everything from desks, to curio cabinets, to gun cabinets, to vanities, to doll cradles and potato bins. When the Thomas The Tank Engine table was too expensive for us to buy for B, Dad made one! Well, when I moved to a bigger house I got the bright idea that my dad could make an entertainment center instead of me saving up $2,500 for one at the furniture store. I found a picture online of something similar to what I wanted and showed it to my dad. I described what I wanted and made a drawing and he took it from there. In about a month of only working in my basement on the weekends, dad had it done and ready to stain. With some help, I stained it in a weekend and had it upstairs in the living room in time for Christmas. It is solid oak with a light cherry stain, which matched the trim and fireplace mantle in the house. It is awesome! Even in my much smaller house that I live in now, it looks great. Thanks, Dad!
This picture shows it without the "bridge" across the top, but you get the idea.
