We're Back!!!

A few weeks ago, Jimmie and I took the kids to the indoor water park in Indianapolis at the Holiday Inn. Friends of ours have two boys close to B’s age, so there were three boys all together. We had a blast! There was also a game room where you trade dollars for tokens and play the arcade games with the goal to win tickets which you trade in for “fabulous” prizes. That was sarcasm. I think Jimmie had just as much fun playing as the boys did! The prizes are such junk though. After a couple thousand tickets, the coolest thing they got was a generic Magic 8 Ball. Anyway, the water park was fun. There were several things to keep them busy…and us too! Oh yes, I was in a bathing suit in public! However, I was strategic enough not to get my picture taken! I think the water slides were their favorite. There were three slides with water flowing continuously to help you fly down the very dark tunnels and plunge into the pool of water at the bottom. Even I was a little intimidated after my first turn. One of the slides required inflatable rafts to ride, but not the other two. After several turns, B asked if he could ride the ones that didn’t require the raft. At first I said no…he’s not a very good swimmer and I was afraid he would freak when he was suddenly thrown into the pool at the end. But I eventually changed my mind and he did it by himself. He liked it and wasn’t scared at all. Lesson to me…let him be a kid!!! It’s not like he was going to drown. One of us was already there when he came out and there was also a lifeguard present. Not to mention the water was only 3 ½ feet deep. We had a great time and here are some pictures. We’re already talking about amusement parks for another trip this summer.
