Impromptu Birthday Party!

About a month ago I bought one of those Beanie Babies for B just for the heck of it. It is a cute little puppy dog and the tag said it's name is Pudding. It even listed his birthday, which was Nov 16, 2006. B immediately picked up on the fact that the puppy's 1st birthday was soon approaching. I cut the little tag off and it was thrown away the same night. He has played and played with that little puppy...giving it "treats" of Cheerios when it does tricks, barks answers to B's questions, licks you when you're least expecting it, and chases a small ball through the house. He takes it in the car wherever we go and gently sets it in his booster seat when he gets out to go to school. So on Monday, the 12, it shouldn't have surprised me when he mentioned that Pudding's birthday was on Friday and we would have to have a surprise party for him. Sure, I said...that sounds like fun! We stopped on the way home and bought Hostess cupcakes and put a candle in one and sang Happy Birthday to the puppy when we got home. And for some reason, I didn't feel silly at all! Such a funny kid!
