So...while cuddling up in the recliner the other night, I asked B "If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?" Without hesitation he replied, "On a train!" I asked him where he was going. He said, "To the Lego Store." I thought...well...why not! So I made reservations for us to take the Amtrak to Chicago on Saturday. We leave around 8:00 in the morning and get home the same day at about 10:00pm. I plan to tour the Sears Tower, eat at Giordano's, visit the Lego Store, and possibly walk around Navy Pier if time permits. I couldn't wait to tell him!!! I made this card and gave it to him after school today:
It was fun just watching him figure out what the pictures meant. I'm sure I will have plenty of pictures from our trip to share with everyone! His birthday is October 20, so as it gets closer, you can enter birthday wishes in the comments and I will make sure he reads them!

Also, when you have a day off, we'll have to take the kids up to the Whistle Stop in Monon. It's the local train enthusiast Mecca. B would LOVE IT!

WOW!! That is so exciting. I'm glad he is getting to ride a real train. Guess just going down to Riehle Plaza to watch for them won't be quite the same anymore. I'll be thinking of you!!
