We made it to the zoo before school started and had a lot of fun. B enjoyed the dolphin show the most. He also liked watching the giraffes. In the Ocean exhibit of the zoo, we were able to pet sharks! He tried very hard, but none would swim close enough for him to reach. He was pretty disappointed. I did get a picture of him trying though.
He has done an excellent job in school so far! He brought his first spelling words home this week and they are: bad, glad, school, class, and rule. He will be tested on Friday, so we've been practicing all week. First I said the words and he spelled them on paper. I corrected a few (rool instead of rule...shcool instead of school), but he did pretty well for the first time. Then I wrote them on paper and made mistakes on purpose for him to find. He liked that and found all my mistakes. The next night we practiced spelling them out loud without writing them down. He likes that too. I make him "write neatly" and since he's a boy he doesn't like that part! Well, it's bath time so I will return tomorrow...I promise!
