My Mother's Day

B did make a Mother's Day present for me at school. It was a butterfly with the wings made of his hand prints. It was very cute. He also made a book for me. Inside the book were sentences that he was supposed to complete with things about me. Here are some things he wrote (his words are underlined):

My mom is nice.

I am lucky to have a mom who loves me.

My mom likes to hug me.

Then he drew a picture of me.

My favorite book to read with mom is Socks For Supper.

I love it when my mom plays with me.

When I am sick my mom takes care of me.

My mom makes great spaghetti.

My mom is great because she loves me.

And here is the one that broke my heart...

I wish my mom had a day off.

I think I've said, "I can't wait for things to slow down and we have nothing to do!" one too many times. Thanks for a reality check, buddy! :-)

Sunday morning Jimmie gave B $20 with the suggestion that he take me out for lunch for Mother's Day. So mid-morning B asked me to go to lunch with him and we decided on Fazoli's. We had a great time - just the two of us. People in this city can't drive when it rains and we almost got sideswiped, but great just the same. I am truly blessed to have two great guys who made my Mother's Day very special.
